The city is situated in a picturesque valley near the banks of the Snake River and surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. It has a population of just over 2,500 people, making it one of the smallest cities in Idaho.
The city’s economy is largely based on agriculture and ranching, as well as tourism due to its proximity to several outdoor recreational areas. The area is also known for its production of potatoes, alfalfa, grain and other local crops.
