Pocatello is located at 320km southeast of Boise. Pocatello was an important rail junction in the 1880s and has some nice homes from that era. One of the finest Victorian homes in the entire state is the Standrod House -it’s like a castle. The building is currently a furniture store, and the owners are happy to show visitors around. The Bannock County Historical Museum has a collection of railroad-era memorabilia. Visitors can also recommend an excursion to the American Falls Reservoir and the town of Lava Hot Springs, whose odor-free, 43ÂșC water attracts visitors from all over the world.
