Thibodaux, Louisiana is a city located in Lafourche Parish, along the banks of Bayou Lafourche. It is known as the “Gateway to Cajun Country” and is home to a rich culture, history, and heritage. The terrain of Thibodaux is mostly flat with some rolling hills in the north. The climate is subtropical with hot summers and mild winters.

The city has an interesting history that dates back to the mid-1800s when it was established by French settlers from Nova Scotia and France. Thibodaux was also known for its political significance during Reconstruction after the Civil War when it served as an important center for African American politics in Louisiana. It was also host to several important meetings between Union forces and Confederate soldiers during this time.

Today, Thibodaux is a thriving economic center with a wide variety of businesses ranging from retail stores to manufacturing companies. The city also has several schools including Nicholls State University which offers programs in business, engineering, education, nursing and more.
