Southaven, Mississippi is a city located in DeSoto County, just south of Memphis, Tennessee. The city has a population of around 55,000 people according to the latest census. Southaven lies on the Mississippi River and is bordered by the Arkansas state line to its west and the Tallahatchie River to its east.

The climate in Southaven is typical of that in the southeastern United States with hot summers and mild winters. The average temperature in July is around 90 degrees while January brings cold temperatures averaging around 40 degrees. Rainfall is abundant throughout the year with an average of nearly 50 inches annually.

Southaven has a rich history dating back to 1836 when it was founded by settlers from Virginia and North Carolina. It was originally part of Tunica County until 1873 when it became part of DeSoto County. Since then, Southaven has grown exponentially into one of the largest cities in Mississippi with a booming economy fueled by manufacturing and retail businesses.
