Jenera, Ohio is a small city located in Hancock County, Ohio. It is nestled in the rolling hills of the countryside and is surrounded by lush, green farmland. The city has a population of just over 4,000 people and covers an area of about six square miles.
The climate in Jenera is generally mild with temperatures ranging from the mid-50s to the mid-80s during the summer months and from the mid-20s to the mid-40s during winter months. It experiences all four seasons with moderate amounts of precipitation throughout the year.
Jenera was founded in 1835 by a group of settlers from Pennsylvania and Virginia who were seeking new opportunities for farming and other agricultural activities. The city grew slowly over time but experienced a major boost when two railroads were built through town in 1851 and 1872 respectively. This provided an important transportation link to nearby cities such as Findlay, Lima, and Toledo which helped spur economic growth in Jenera.
Politically, Jenera is part of Ohio’s 8th congressional district which is currently represented by Republican Congressman Warren Davidson. The city has its own mayor as well as a small council that governs local affairs such as taxation and public services. Jenera also has its own police force that keeps order within its borders.
