North Smithfield, Rhode Island is a small town located in the northern part of the state. The geography consists of rolling hills and lush forests, with a few small lakes and ponds scattered throughout. The climate is generally mild and humid, with temperatures rarely dropping below 40 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter and reaching up to 90 degrees or higher in the summer.

History-wise, North Smithfield has a rich history dating back to 1666 when Roger Williams purchased land from the Narragansett Indians. It was incorporated as a town in 1730, and has been an important part of Rhode Island’s economy ever since. Politically, North Smithfield is governed by a Town Council consisting of seven members elected for two-year terms.
