New Glarus is a small city located in Green County, Wisconsin. It is situated in the southwest corner of the state, approximately 30 minutes from Madison and an hour from Milwaukee. The city encompasses an area of 4.5 square miles with a population of around 2,500 people.

New Glarus has a humid continental climate with cold winters and hot summers. In the winter months, temperatures can range from -10 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit while summer temperatures average between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The area receives an average of 35 inches of precipitation annually with snowfall occurring between November and April each year.

The city’s history dates back to 1845 when Swiss immigrants settled the area, looking for economic opportunities and religious freedom. Today, New Glarus is known as “America’s Little Switzerland” as it still retains much of its Swiss heritage in its architecture and culture.
