Handley, West Virginia is a small town located in the eastern panhandle of the state. It is situated in Berkeley County, just a few miles from the Maryland border. With a population of just over 500 people, Handley has remained small and rural for most of its history.

The town was established in 1848 and named after Thomas Handley, an early settler who owned land in the area. The early settlers were mostly farmers who grew corn and wheat on their land. As the years went on, more people moved to Handley and it became a thriving community with several stores, churches, and businesses.
