Tolleson, Arizona is a city located in Maricopa County, near Phoenix. It has a population of approximately 7,000 people. Geographically, the city is situated on flat terrain and is surrounded by the Sonoran Desert. The climate in Tolleson is hot and dry with low humidity. Winters are mild with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing while summers can be extremely hot with temperatures reaching up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

The history of Tolleson dates back to 1888 when it was founded as an agricultural community. It was originally known as West Phoenix until it officially became Tolleson in 1914. The city was named after early settler W.W. Tolleson who ran a general store there for many years before his death in 1918. Since its founding, the city has been known for its agricultural production and until recently its economy was largely based on cotton farming and dairy products.
