Berlin, Connecticut is a small town of approximately 20,000 people located in Hartford County. It is situated on the banks of the Mattabesett River and is bordered by New Britain to the north and Meriden to the south. The town is steeped in American history, having been founded in 1785 by settlers from Middletown.

The climate of Berlin is typical for Connecticut’s Northeast region, with four distinct seasons including hot and humid summers and cold winters. Snowfall can be significant during winter months, but typically not as severe as other parts of New England. Springtime often brings heavy rains which helps to nourish the lush green foliage that blankets the area during summer months.

Berlin has a long political history which began with its incorporation as an independent town in 1821. It has since become a part of Hartford County and has enjoyed strong representation at both state and federal levels for many years.
