Canton, Connecticut is a small town located in the northern part of the state, just north of Hartford. It is part of the Farmington Valley region and is known for its quiet, rural atmosphere and beautiful views of the Litchfield Hills. The population was 8,840 at the 2010 census.

The town was first settled in 1732 and was incorporated in 1806. Canton has a rich history, with many historic sites to explore. The town center features old-fashioned buildings such as the Old Town Hall and Congregational Church. There are several parks as well, including Hop River State Park and Burr Pond State Park. Local attractions include an apple orchard and a cider mill, both open to visitors during certain times of year.
