Canyonville, Oregon is a small city in Douglas County located on Interstate 5, about 45 miles south of Eugene. With a population of just over 2,000 people, it is the smallest incorporated city in Oregon.

The city was founded in 1853 by pioneers who were drawn to the area for its natural beauty and abundant resources. They named it Canyonville after the canyon that runs through the area. It quickly became an important stop on the Oregon Trail as pioneers traveled through the region on their way to California and other points west. Over time, Canyonville grew into a thriving community with businesses, schools, churches, and other amenities that make up a typical small town.

Today, Canyonville is known for its stunning landscape and outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, hunting, hiking and snowmobiling. Canyonville is served by two main highways – Interstate 5 which runs north-south along the western edge of town; and Highway 227 which runs east-west along the southern edge of town connecting it with neighboring towns such as Winston to the east; Roseburg to the south; Myrtle Creek to the north; Sutherlin to the northwest; Reedsport to the southwest; Drain to the southeast; Elkton to the northeast; Glendale to north-northeast; Riddle to south-southwest;and Scottsburg further south-southwest The nearest major airport is located approximately 25 miles away in Eugene while smaller airports can be found at Roseburg (19 miles) and Myrtle Creek (14 miles).

Overall, Canyonville is a great place for those looking for a peaceful small town lifestyle surrounded by beautiful scenery with plenty of outdoor activities nearby while still being close enough to larger cities such as Eugene if you need more amenities or attractions than what can be found locally.
