Carrollton, Missouri is a small town located in the northwest part of the state, in Carroll County. It is situated on the banks of the Missouri River and is known as a peaceful community with plenty of natural beauty. The town has a population of around 2,200 people and covers an area of 2.6 square miles.

The town was first settled in 1838 by John P. Carroll and other settlers from Kentucky who were looking to establish a new home on the frontier. As they arrived they found an abundance of wildlife and lush rolling hills that made it easy to farm and raise livestock. The town was named after John P. Carroll, who was an early leader in the area and served as its first postmaster when it was established in 1842.

Carrollton is known for its rich history, which can still be seen today through its many historic buildings such as the old courthouse, jail, churches, schools and homes that have been preserved from earlier times. The town also has several parks including Memorial Park with its baseball diamond and walking trails; Washington Park with picnic tables; and Veterans Memorial Park with its memorial to those who served in various wars over the years.

The downtown area features several shops, restaurants, galleries and other businesses that draw visitors year-round for shopping trips or just to stroll around admiring all there is to see.
