Catawba, Ohio is a small village located in the state of Ohio, in the United States. It is situated on the banks of the Catawba River, which flows through the area. The population of Catawba is just over 500 people and it has a small-town charm that many visitors enjoy.

The village was founded in 1832 by Dr. William Catawba and his wife Mary Catawba, who were from Virginia. They built a log cabin and named their new home after their hometown of Catawba, Virginia. The village grew slowly but steadily over the next few decades and by 1890 it had become an important center for agriculture and industry in the region.

Today, Catawba is still a small community but it offers its residents plenty to do and see. There are several historic sites in town including an old grist mill which dates back to 1832 as well as several churches including St Paul’s Lutheran Church which was built in 1818. There are also several parks in town including Miller Park which features a playground and picnic area as well as trails for walking or biking around town.

Catawba is also home to many local businesses including stores, restaurants, bars, cafes, art galleries and more. Visitors can enjoy browsing through these shops or grab a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants or pubs. It’s also home to an annual festival called ‘The Catawbafest’ which takes place each year on July 4th weekend with live music, food vendors, crafts and activities for all ages to enjoy!
