Michigan, located in the Great Lakes region of the United States, is divided into 83 counties and contains over 1,700 incorporated cities, villages, and townships. Michigan’s healthcare system includes numerous hospitals, with major institutions such as the University of Michigan Health System, a leader in research and specialized care, and Beaumont Health, which operates several hospitals in the Detroit metropolitan area. Henry Ford Health System in Detroit is another significant healthcare provider, known for its medical research and trauma care. Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids is one of the largest healthcare systems in the state, offering comprehensive services across western Michigan. The state’s healthcare infrastructure ensures that residents have access to a wide range of medical services, from advanced specialty care to routine medical treatment, throughout urban and rural areas.
