Clinton, New Jersey is a small town in Hunterdon County, located in the heart of the Garden State. With a population of just over 2,000 residents, it’s a tight-knit community that is full of history and charm.

The town was founded in 1720 by William Clinton, a Quaker from England who was looking for a place to settle down and raise his family. In its early days, Clinton was mainly an agricultural town with several mills and farms dotting the landscape. Today though, the town has become more suburban with many people commuting to nearby cities such as Philadelphia or New York City for work.

Clinton is situated on the banks of the South Branch Raritan River which provides locals with great opportunities for fishing and kayaking. The river also serves as a source of drinking water for the town which is why conservation efforts are taken seriously here. The South Branch also provides locals with an abundance of wildlife including white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and bald eagles that can often be spotted soaring overhead.

One of Clinton’s main attractions is Red Mill Museum Village which features several historic buildings from the 18th and 19th century such as a blacksmith shop, general store, grist mill, church, schoolhouse and so much more. It’s an incredible place to explore and learn about local history while also enjoying some beautiful scenery along the way.

Clinton is also home to Spruce Run Recreation Area which offers plenty of outdoor activities like swimming in its lake or hiking its trails as well as picnic areas where you can enjoy lunch with family or friends while taking in some stunning views of nature at its finest.
