Elba, Alabama is a small city located in Coffee County, approximately 45 miles from the state capital of Montgomery. It is part of the Dothan metropolitan area and has a population of around 4,000 people.

The city was founded in 1882 as a railroad town on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad line. This railroad line still runs through Elba today, connecting it to other cities throughout Alabama and the Southeast. The city was named after an island off the coast of Italy called Elba.
