Freeman, Missouri is a small town located in the north-central part of the state, about 60 miles away from the state capital, Jefferson City. The town is home to a population of 895 people as of 2019. Geographically, Freeman is located in a region known as “Little Dixie” due to its historical ties to the South and its warm climate. Summers are generally hot and humid with temperatures reaching up to 90°F and winters are usually mild with temperatures occasionally dropping below 0°F.

The town was originally founded in 1842 by John Freeman and has a rich history of being an integral part of the American Civil War. During that time, it served as an important supply center for Union troops fighting against Confederate forces. In addition, it was also home to several battles between Union and Confederate forces throughout the war. Politically, Freeman is part of Cole County and is represented by Republican Senator Roy Blunt in Congress.

The town also has several local schools which serve students from pre-Kindergarten through high school graduation.
