Georgiana, Alabama is a small town located in the heart of Butler County. It has a population of 1,472 people and covers an area of 5.6 square miles. The town was founded in 1819 and named after George Washington’s daughter, Georgiana Washington Campbell.

The main industries in Georgiana are agriculture and manufacturing, including furniture and lumber products. The town is home to several historic sites and attractions including the Butler County Courthouse, which was built in 1873; the Old Town Hall; and the Old Georgiana Cemetery where many of the town’s early settlers are buried.

The town holds an annual celebration called “Old Georgiana Days” which features live entertainment, food vendors, a car show, carnival rides, antique fairs and more. It is also home to many churches including First Presbyterian Church (established in 1820) as well as St. Paul’s Episcopal Church (established in 1843).

Georgiana is known for its friendly people and Southern charm. It has a rich history that can be seen throughout its streets with old buildings that have been restored to their former glory. The downtown area has been revitalized with new businesses moving into the area offering unique restaurants, shops, boutiques and galleries for visitors to explore.

The town is also home to several parks including Nellie Park which offers picnic areas, playgrounds and walking trails as well as a swimming pool for summertime fun. There are also two golf courses nearby so you can hit some balls while enjoying the beautiful scenery of this rural community.

If you’re looking for outdoor adventure then Georgiana has plenty to offer with fishing spots along Lake Jackson or hunting opportunities on nearby wildlife management areas like Little Creek WMA or Conecuh National Forest just outside of town limits. With its close proximity to Mobile Bay there are plenty of opportunities for boating activities too!
