Grantsboro is a small, unincorporated community located in Pamlico County, North Carolina. With a population of just over 1,000 people, it is one of the smallest communities in the state. Despite its small size, Grantsboro has plenty to offer.

The town is nestled along the banks of the Pamlico River and is surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills. This scenic backdrop provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation such as fishing, boating, camping, hiking and more. Grantsboro has a rich history that dates back to the early 1800s when it was founded by William Grant. It was originally named “Grant’s Store” after William Grant who ran a general store in the area. The town was renamed “Grantsboro” in 1891 when it was incorporated as a village.

Today Grantsboro is home to many small businesses including restaurants, stores and other retail outlets that serve both locals and visitors alike. The town also features several historic sites such as the old grain mill which still stands today and serves as a reminder of Grantsboro’s past.
