Greensburg is a small town in St. Helena Parish, Louisiana with a population of around 1,500 people. The town was founded in 1809 and is the oldest settlement in the parish. It is located on the north bank of the Amite River and sits at an elevation of 36 feet above sea level. It is home to one of the oldest continuously operating cotton gins in the United States, which began operation in 1820.

Greensburg has a rich history and culture that have been preserved over the years by its residents. The town has numerous historic sites, including several antebellum homes and churches that date back to the early 1800s. There are also many old cemeteries scattered throughout town that are home to some of St. Helena’s earliest settlers.
