Greenville, California is a small rural town with a population of about 2,500 people. It is located on the western edge of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Plumas County. The town has a mild climate with warm summers and cool winters. Greenville’s history dates back to the Gold Rush era when it was established as a mining camp in 1854. Since then, it has been primarily an agricultural and timber-based economy. The town is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors and is part of the Plumas County Board of Education system. The local economy consists primarily of agriculture, tourism, and recreation related businesses.
