It is located on the Withlacoochee River and has an average elevation of around 200 feet. The climate in Hahira is humid subtropical with hot summers and mild winters. In terms of history, Hahira was first settled in 1836 and was officially incorporated as a city in 1906. Politically, Hahira is part of the state’s 9th Congressional District and has been represented by Republican Austin Scott since 2011.
