Hephzibah, Georgia is a small city located in Richmond County on the Savannah River. The city is situated along the Fall Line, which marks the border between the Piedmont Plateau and the Coastal Plain. The climate of Hephzibah is mild and humid with hot summers and cool winters.

Hephzibah was founded in 1790 by Colonel John Houstoun of Augusta and named after his daughter, Hephzibah. It was incorporated as a town in 1837 and as a city in 1891. The town’s economy has traditionally been based on agriculture, but since the 1950s, it has become increasingly reliant on suburban sprawl from nearby Augusta.

In terms of politics, Hephzibah is part of Georgia’s 12th Congressional District and is represented by Republican Rick Allen in the U.S. House of Representatives. In state politics, it is represented by Republican Jodi Lott in the Georgia Senate and Republican Tom McCall in the Georgia House of Representatives.
