Flowery Branch, Georgia is a small city located in Hall County, about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta. It is part of the Gainesville-Flowery Branch Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,679 at the 2010 census.

Flowery Branch was first settled in the 1840s by settlers from South Carolina and North Carolina. The town was named for a nearby branch of the Chattahoochee River that had a profusion of wildflowers growing along its banks. In 1874, the Central of Georgia Railway arrived in Flowery Branch and brought with it increased commerce and growth to the area. The town was incorporated in 1889 and continued to grow throughout the 20th century as industry moved into the area.

Today, Flowery Branch is known for its small-town charm and friendly residents. It has a quaint downtown area with several locally owned businesses such as restaurants, boutiques, antiques shops, art galleries, and more. Outdoor activities are also popular in Flowery Branch with two lakes nearby – Lake Lanier and Lake Sidney Lanier – providing plenty of opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking and more.

The city is home to several parks where residents can enjoy outdoor recreation such as playgrounds for children; walking trails; sports fields; picnic areas; basketball courts; tennis courts; disc golf courses; and more. Additionally, there are many historic sites located within Flowery Branch’s city limits including Old Federal Road which was once used by Native Americans traveling between Tennessee Valley settlements; several former railroad depots on both sides of Main Street that have been converted into restaurants or shops; and an old cotton mill near downtown which has been renovated into apartments and commercial spaces.

Flowery Branch also hosts several events throughout the year such as “Christmas on Main Street” – an annual holiday celebration featuring live music performances, holiday lights displays shopping specials at local businesses – “Flower Power Festival” – an outdoor festival celebrating local artisans – “Fall Fest” – an autumn celebration featuring live music performances – “Movies on Main Street” – an outdoor movie series held each summer – “4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza” – an annual fireworks display held at City Park – and more!
