The population of Lexington, Massachusetts is 32,872 people. The town is located in Middlesex County and is situated 10 miles northwest of Boston. It is bordered by Burlington, Woburn, Bedford, Arlington and Lincoln. Lexington has a humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters.

In terms of history, Lexington was the site of the first battle of the American Revolutionary War on April 19th 1775. This battle pitted colonial minutemen against British troops and resulted in the death of eight colonials and ten British soldiers. The town was also home to numerous prominent figures during the Revolutionary War such as John Hancock, Samuel Adams and Paul Revere.

Politically, Lexington is a Democratic-leaning town with a majority-Democratic Board of Selectmen that oversees local government operations such as public safety, education and infrastructure maintenance.

The economy in Lexington depends heavily on education with several major universities in the area such as Harvard University and Tufts University providing jobs to many local residents.
