Loyall is a small city located in Harlan County, Kentucky. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the state, near the Virginia border and Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. The population of Loyall was 1,262 at the 2010 census.

The town was founded in 1879 by former Union Army Captain John Loyall, who named it after his father’s middle name. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the mainline of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad. During this period, it was a center for coal mining and timber production. In addition to these industries, it has also served as an agricultural center for many years.

Today, Loyall is a quiet rural community with a strong sense of community and pride in its heritage. It is home to several local businesses such as restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations that serve the needs of its residents and visitors alike. There are also several churches located throughout Loyall that offer worship services weekly as well as special events throughout the year.
