Marlborough, Massachusetts is a city located in Middlesex County, about 25 miles west of Boston. It is the fourth largest city in the state, with a population of around 38,000 people. The city covers an area of 18.7 square miles and is known for its strong industry and commercial development.

Marlborough was first settled in 1660 and was part of Sudbury until it was incorporated as a town in 1660. In 1711, Marlborough was officially incorporated as a city. The city grew rapidly during the Industrial Revolution due to its proximity to Boston and the many factories that were built there. In the 19th century, Marlborough became well known for its shoe manufacturing industry. Today, Marlborough is home to many large corporations including EMC Corporation and Quest Diagnostics.

Marlborough has a long history of being a very diverse community with people from all walks of life living there. The city has a large population of immigrants from various countries such as Brazil, India, China and Portugal. This diversity is reflected in the many festivals held in Marlborough throughout the year such as Brazilfest and IndiaFest which celebrate different cultures from around the world.

The city also has several educational institutions including Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School which provides vocational education for students interested in careers related to technology or health care; Framingham State University’s satellite campus; and two private schools – Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School (AMSA) and Marlboro College Prep School (MCPS).
