Mart, Texas is a small city located in McLennan County, in the Central Texas region of the state. It is part of the Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city was founded in 1874 and named after William Mart, who served as the postmaster of nearby Waco at the time.

The population of Mart is about 1,400 people, and it has a total area of 2.2 square miles. The city is home to several parks and recreational areas, including West Lake Park and Stribling Park. There are also several local businesses in town, including a grocery store and several restaurants.

The economy of Mart relies heavily on agriculture and livestock production. Cotton farming was once an important industry for the area, but it has since been replaced by other crops such as corn and soybeans. Mart is known for its annual rodeo event held in early June each year at the McLennan County Expo Center just outside of town. Residents come out to watch barrel racing events as well as bull riding competitions during this popular event that draws people from all over Central Texas to enjoy some good old fashioned rodeo fun!

The city also hosts an annual “Christmas on Main Street” celebration each December that features a parade down Main Street with Santa Claus leading the way! This festive event includes music performances from local school choirs as well as food vendors selling delicious treats like hot cocoa and cookies for all to enjoy!
