The history of Medina dates back to 1822 when it was first settled by settlers from Virginia and North Carolina. In 1823, John Henry Dyer established a post office and named the town after his hometown of Medina, Ohio. The town was officially incorporated in 1837 and has since grown into a small but vibrant community.
