Middletown, Delaware is a town located in New Castle County. It has a population of 18,871 according to the 2019 census. Located in the northern part of the state, it is bordered by Glasgow to the north, Townsend to the east, and Odessa to the south. The town has a humid subtropical climate with mild winters and hot summers.

The history of Middletown dates back to its founding in 1851 when it was incorporated as a town by an act of the Delaware General Assembly. Since then, it has seen significant growth and development over the years. In recent years, Middletown has become home to many large businesses and industries that employ many of its citizens. The economy is mainly driven by manufacturing, retail trade and services.

Middletown is served by three public school districts: Appoquinimink School District for grades K-12; Red Clay Consolidated School District for grades K-8; and Colonial School District for grades 9-12.
