Roxana, Illinois is a small village located in Madison County in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area of Southern Illinois. The village is situated along the banks of the Mississippi River and has a population of just under 3,000 people. Roxana was first settled in 1817 and was incorporated as a village in 1895. It is named after the daughter of a local settler, John Cox.
Roxana offers its residents a quiet atmosphere and peaceful surroundings, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation. The village has several parks and recreational areas that offer fishing, swimming, boating, picnicking, and other activities. There are also two golf courses nearby for those who enjoy hitting the links.
