Savage, Minnesota is a small city located in the southwestern part of the state, just fifteen miles from Minneapolis. It is situated on the banks of the Minnesota River and has a population of roughly 26,000 people. The city was founded in 1854 by William Savage, who named it after himself.
The city has a long history that includes being home to some of the earliest settlers in Minnesota. Savage’s first settlers were mostly farmers and loggers who were attracted to the area for its rich soil and abundant timber resources. Over time, Savage evolved into an industrial center with many businesses such as flour mills, sawmills, and pottery factories.
Today, Savage is known for its small-town charm while still being close enough to Minneapolis to enjoy all of its amenities.
