Thayne, Wyoming is a small town located in Star Valley in Lincoln County. It is the county seat and has a population of approximately 500 people. The town was founded in 1884 by Mormon pioneers and named after Thayne Smith, an early settler.

The main street of Thayne is lined with historic buildings that have been preserved for over one hundred years.
