Winnemucca, Nevada is a small city with a population of 7,396 people as of 2018. It is located in Humboldt County in the northern part of Nevada and is part of the Reno-Sparks metropolitan area. The geography of Winnemucca is mostly flat with some rolling hills and mountains to the north. The climate is semi-arid and characterized by hot summers and cold winters with occasional snowfall.

The history of Winnemucca dates back to 1859 when it was established as a trading post on the Humboldt River by settlers from California.
