Woodbury, Connecticut is located in the beautiful Naugatuck Valley in Litchfield County. The town has a population of 10,000 people, with a diverse mix of backgrounds. The town is known for its picturesque rolling hills and wooded valleys, as well as its numerous lakes and streams. It is bordered by Southbury to the east, Bethlehem to the north, Watertown to the west and Oxford to the south.

Woodbury was first settled in 1737 by settlers from Stratford and Watertown who were attracted by its fertile land and mild climate. The town was incorporated in 1787 and has since grown steadily. It was an agricultural community until the 1950’s when it became an affluent residential community due to its proximity to New York City.

Politics in Woodbury are dominated by two main parties: Republicans and Democrats. The town has a Mayor-Council form of government with five Town Council members elected every two years on a partisan basis.
